Education
Dr. Hubbard’s advanced education began in the 1970s when he attended the University of Notre Dame and graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree and received the Baldinger Award for Scholastic Excellence, an award given only to the top two graduating pre-medical students.
He then proceeded to graduate with honors from one of the top-ranked medical schools in the country, Washington University School of Medicine. - He then followed this with three additional years of training in plastic surgery at Loyola University Medical Center where he finished with a chief residency at Loyola University and the nearby Cook County Hospital.
- To complete his training, Dr. Hubbard then proceeded to complete a further year of plastic surgery residencies at Eastern Virginia Medical School and Wexham Park Hospital in England.
Dedication to helping others
While Dr. Hubbard devotes most of his time and energy to his patients right here at home, he doesn’t forget that those in developing countries need help. In 1983, he spent two months in a clinic in East Africa, helping patients in need of care. Since then, he has participated in numerous volunteer activities overseas and at home by forming a non-profit company, Medical Supply Rescue and Recycle (MSSR) in 1994. MSSR purchases surgical instruments with funding from a portion of Dr. Hubbard’s sugeon’s fees. Since 2009 over $200,000 has been donated to doctors and hospitals serving developing countries.
The efforts of Dr. Hubbard’s charitable non-profit have been recognized by the US Ambassador to Sierra Leone and Partners in Health in Haiti . Dr. Hubbard plans to continue donating monetarily while he continues to serve his cosmetic patients in the Tidewater area and then resume his volunteer trips during retirement.
