This North Carolina woman in her fifties had gastric bypass surgery four years previously and was left with a large amount of excess abdominal skin hanging and sag of her mons area. Careful inspection shows that she has multiple transverse scars on her abdomen, and this happens to be the occasional patient where scars could interfere with blood supply and impair healing. For this reason, it was necessary to add a vertical ellipse making this a “fleur-de-lis” abdominoplasty with mons suspension. She chose no muscle tightening. She is extremely happy with her result and scar placement. Clearly a small bathing suit bottom hides her scar well.
