This 71-year-old Virginia Beach woman met with Dr. Hubbard in consultation to address some particular aging aspects of her face. She was not happy with the sag of her cheeks and the wrinkling around her mouth. She was also greatly bothered by the hollowing that developed in her cheeks below the cheek bones. After a thorough discussion, she revealed that the puffiness beneath her eyes and sagging of her neck were not concerns to her. Therefore, Dr. Hubbard customized a plan that would specifically and optimally address the things that bothered her. Together, they decided on a mini-facelift and addressing the hollowing of her cheeks with the filler of her own fat. This fat could also then be used to augment some hollow beneath the corners of the mouth and refine the lips with subtle augmentation as well. Laser resurfacing was performed at the same time and we can see from her after pictures that the result was very natural and quite rejuvenated. Her own fat used for grafting took nicely at the areas where this filler of her own natural, living tissue was used. The results from the fat grafting and the laser skin resurfacing can be seen most clearly in the photos labeled "without flash". When we do not use a flash to take a picture, facial shadows are more prominent, making it easier to see the change in the 3-dimensional contours of her face. She is very pleased with her new rested and rejuvenated appearance.
