This woman in her late 70s had cosmetic surgery to her upper lids over 20 years ago. During that procedure, an excessive amount of fat was removed, giving her a severe hollow appearance. Many of the areas she had fat removed should not have had any fat removed at all. Her cosmetic surgery was more of a reconstruction. It took two stages of fat injections to her upper lids to take away the severe distracting hollowness. She continues to have droopy upper lids which is an unrelated condition called ptosis. This requires a separate surgery, which she does not want at this time.
